Measure the mouth, not the lid
Jar mouths are usually quoted by the lid size, which is wider than the opening itself. Measure across the inside of the glass at the narrowest point.
Corks for jars
Tapered cork stoppers for kilner jars, sweet jars, storage jars and preserving jars. Measure the inside of the jar mouth and we will tell you which size seals it.
Jar mouths are usually quoted by the lid size, which is wider than the opening itself. Measure across the inside of the glass at the narrowest point.
Most jars have a short straight neck before the shoulder. A cork whose length exceeds that neck will sit proud rather than seating properly, so check the length as well as the diameters.
For dry storage a snug fit is enough. For anything liquid, or for a jar that will be laid down or moved, choose a cork with more length so there is more surface gripping the glass.
Prices exclude VAT, volume discounts apply automatically at checkout, and there is no minimum order.
